I am working on invertebrate marine population genetics, connectivity and phylogeography. My main interest stands in understanding the evolutionnary processes driving genetic diversity and speciation in coral reef associate bivalves. To answer these questions I combine field work, observation studies, molecular biology and genetic statistics.

Histological data base of the Sponge of genus Aplysina

This project was conducted in the Marine research center DIMAR of Marseille in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. Nicole Boury Esnault and Dr. Thierry Perez.
It consisted in the classification of photographs of spicules and cells of sponges from the genus Aplysina from the Mediteranean Sea.
The pictures were taken by transmission electron microscopy in order to visualize the different types of spicules or by histological sections to visualize of the different cell types at various stage of the reproduction.
